If you're looking for helicopter flight training, you've come to the right place!!!
The California Flight Center stands out from other flight schools in the Southern California area because we train our students in the Schweizer 300CBI.
The Schweizer 300 is not only dominant in the field of safety, but can carry more passenger weight and, most importantly, has flight characteristics more comparable to popular models of turbine helicopters than it's smaller cousin, the Robinson R22.
The Schweizer's flight characteristics are most commonly compared to those of the Bell 206 and the MD 500, so our students emerge from their training with valuable and very applicable skills for the helicopter pilot work force. The transition from the Schweizer to turbine helicopters is a very smooth and natural one.
We currently have both fuel injected and carbureted helicopters on line, so students can be assured a variety of flight training.
Students on the larger size need not be concerned; as this powerful and roomy training ship accomidates with ease! We have a well maintained instrument trainer available to anyone interested in acuiring an Instrument rating, as well.
Long Beach Airport is one of the most complex and challenging airports in which to get your helicopter rating. Centrally located between several usable airports, we provide our students with variety and diversity- California Flight Center students emerge confident and ready to handle any flight environment! We are based only a few hundred yards from our training area, so there is no time or money wasted traveling to or from your lessons.
